The Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari di Catania (Autonomous Institute for Public Housing of Catania) is a local authority which owns, manages and provides, public housing. IACP Catania leads interventions of maintenance and renovation of its buildings too.

Today IACP Catania has a property portfolio of 9,000 apartments; many of them were constructed over 30 years ago and they need extraordinary maintenance efforts, especially building envelopes and technological systems. With this aim, in order to attract new funding sources (both national and European), IACP decided to promote agreements with other partners, in order to develop new technologies for building maintenance, improving the energy performance and the quality of living, both at building and district scale.

In this project, IACP provides the Italian pilot building for the demonstration of the proposed methodology and is responsible for signing all the necessary design drawings and documents, for the process management (building permission for the Italian pilot building), for the supervision of works and for the construction management (execution of maintenance work for the Italian pilot building). They are also actively involved in the stakeholders’ forum activities and in the Communication, dissemination and training activities, especially at local level.
