The 2nd edition of New European Bauhaus Festival Celebrates Creativity, Sustainability, and Inclusivity

The vibrant spirit of creativity, sustainability, and inclusivity converged in Brussels from April 9th to April 13th as the second edition of the New European Bauhaus Festival unfolded in Parc du Cinquantenaire and the Arts & History Museum. Hosted by the European Commission in collaboration with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the event welcomed participants from Brussels and beyond, both in person and virtually, to explore the intersection of art, science, technology, and culture in building a more sustainable future.

In 2022, e-SAFE was showcased at the FAIR during the first edition of the New European Bauhaus Festival; this time, we engaged purely as spectators, absorbing the rich tapestry of ideas and inspirations that unfolded, which has enriched our perspective and energized our commitment to the movement’s ideals of sustainability, beauty, and inclusiveness

A Celebration of Innovation: Throughout the five-day festival, attendees engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and artistic performances, immersing themselves in the innovative power of Europe's collective vision for a beautiful and sustainable future. From thought-provoking keynotes to captivating panel discussions, the FORUM provided a platform for experts and visionaries to share insights and inspire action towards a more sustainable and inclusive society.

Empowering Collaboration: The FAIR section of the festival buzzed with energy as participants delved into workshops, labs, and exhibitions, exchanging ideas and co-creating solutions to complex societal challenges. Through hands-on experiences and collaborative projects, attendees explored the nexus of sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion, harnessing the power of collective creativity to drive positive change.

Artistic Expression: In the FEST part of the festival, artistic performances dazzled audiences, showcasing the profound connection between art and sustainability. From visual arts to music and dance, artists from across Europe brought to life the ethos of the New European Bauhaus, reminding us that beauty and sustainability go hand in hand.

Honoring Excellence: A highlight of the festival was the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2024 Ceremony, where 20 exemplary projects, designs, and ideas were celebrated for their alignment with the movement's values and commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. Among the recipients, special recognition was given to Ukraine's Reconstruction and Recovery Effort, highlighting the importance of solidarity and support in times of crisis.

Global Reach: While the festival unfolded in Brussels, its impact reverberated far and wide through Satellite Events held across Europe and beyond. From local gatherings to international conferences, the spirit of the New European Bauhaus Festival reached communities worldwide, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and collective action towards a more sustainable future

The New European Bauhaus is not just an event but a catalyst for change. As we reflect on the insights gained, the connections forged, and the ideas exchanged, it becomes clear that the journey towards a sustainable and inclusive future is a collective endeavor.
