e-SAFE is proud to have participated in the Call for Solutions Next Gen ERP, an initiative organized by EDERA S.r.l. Impresa Sociale. This call aimed to gather innovative, scalable, and high-quality solutions for the retrofitting of public residential buildings in Milan. Under the broader framework of Energiesprong Italia, the project is part of Italy’s national effort to decarbonize the building stock through industrialized retrofit processes. With the support of Fondazione Cariplo and the City of Milan, the call emphasizes transforming Milan’s public housing as a model for sustainable urban regeneration.
The call focused on gathering integrated solutions to achieve fast, secure, and efficient retrofits of Milanese public residential buildings. Proposals were required to meet high standards, including energy efficiency upgrades (ECO) and the integration of earthquake resistance measures (ECO+SISMA). The solutions had to achieve a minimum A1 energy class and comply with seismic criteria, ensuring a safety coefficient of at least 0.6.
As part of this initiative, e-SAFE contributed its innovative approach to integrated energy and seismic retrofit solutions. Through industrialized methods, e-SAFE aims to reduce both the time and cost of retrofitting while ensuring high-quality results. The project was among 16 proposals selected for this initiative, with seven focusing on energy efficiency and nine addressing both energy and seismic upgrades.
By participating in this call, e-SAFE is not only advancing its own retrofit solutions but also contributing to Milan’s efforts to become a leader in sustainable urban regeneration. The initiative aligns with both Italy’s climate goals and the broader movement toward low-carbon cities.
Renovation Days 2025: New Partnerships and Innovations in Sustainable Building
The winning solutions will be publicly presented during the Renovation Days 2025, scheduled for November 2025. This event will represent a platform for showcasing the results of the participating projects, providing an opportunity for professionals to collaborate, share insights, and promote the adoption of advanced retrofit techniques. In addition to the presentations, an award ceremony will recognize the most innovative solutions, highlighting their contribution to the sustainability, energy efficiency, and resilience of public housing.
This event, taking place in Milan from November 26-28, will highlight groundbreaking advancements in construction and renovation, focusing on sustainability and decarbonization. It is supported by three new partners:
- EDERA: A center for innovation in decarbonization and building regeneration, working to reduce construction time, costs, and environmental impact in Italy. Additionally, it coordinates the Energiesprong initiative in Italy, promoting transformative approaches to energy-efficient building renovations
- EFN – European Façade Network: A network of experts dedicated to advancing façade design and engineering across Europe and globally.
- Eurac Research: A research center based in Bolzano, focused on accelerating the transition to a low-carbon society through innovative energy technologies.
The event will feature the Next Gen ERP Energiesprong Call for Solutions award ceremony, with technical sessions highlighting innovative solutions for energy-efficient building renovations. Key participants will include construction companies, developers, public institutions, universities, designers, and technology companies, all collaborating to shape the future of the built environment.
Key dates and sessions:
- Wednesday, November 26: The award ceremony for the 4 winning solutions where Edera will present highlights from all submissions,
- Thursday, November 27: A technical session presenting all the solutions received, both winning and non-winning,
