3rd e-SAFE Academy Webinar: e-THERM – An Efficient Solution for Renovating Thermal Systems

Date: 8 May 2025
Time: 14:00 CET
Location: Online on Zoom

The third and final webinar of the e-SAFE Academy series is just around the corner, and this time the focus shifts to one of the most essential—yet often underestimated—aspects of building renovation: thermal systems. Titled e-THERM: An Efficient Solution for Renovating the Thermal Systems”, the event will present a forward-thinking approach to upgrading heating and domestic hot water systems with sustainability and efficiency at its core.

Following the first webinar on business models and financial schemes for deep renovation, and the second on envelope solutions for seismic and energy renovation, this final session will round off the e-SAFE Academy journey by introducing the e-THERM system—a smart, integrated solution developed within the e-SAFE project.

Two expert speakers will guide participants through the main features and benefits of the e-THERM approach:

  • Gianpiero Evola (University of Catania) will illustrate how the e-THERM system can increase the use of renewable sources in building renovations, supporting the transition towards low-carbon energy.
  • Giovanni Semprini (University of Bologna) will present a decentralised solution for Domestic Hot Water production, designed to improve efficiency, flexibility, and user comfort.

The e-THERM system complements the e-SAFE project’s broader goal of making Europe’s building stock safer and more energy efficient, especially in seismic-prone regions. By addressing the often-overlooked thermal systems, this solution closes the loop of integrated renovation strategies proposed by e-SAFE.

Why attend?

This webinar is a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements in energy renovation, with a specific focus on thermal systems. You’ll hear directly from researchers involved in the e-SAFE project as they share practical insights, experimental results, and real-world applications of the e-THERM system. Whether you're an industry professional, academic, or policymaker, this session will offer valuable perspectives on how to implement integrated, future-ready renovation strategies in buildings across Europe.
